We are part of the Paleoceanography research unit at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, Wischhfstraße 1-3, 24148 Kiel, and we work within the group of Eleni Anagnostou.
"We are exploring the evolving relationship among climate-atmospheric CO2-growth and retreat of continental ice sheets. With our team we target millennial scale reconstructions using marine carbonates, such as foraminifera and corals, so that processes occurring on similar timescales can be monitored. Those could be for example changes in the marine biological carbon pump, short term weathering or circulation changes, monsoons, organic carbon burial, and others. By looking into short term processes, not only we are targeting processes that will affect us in the near future, but also we explore tipping elements, that could drive climate from one state to another.“
