Our GEOMAR Facilities
Preparation Laboratory (Room 5/0.117)
In our Preparation lab, we have 4 stations with microscopes, a microscope fitted with camera (LEICA IC90 E; 10 MP) for offline and online image sharing and morphometrics, sieves, drilling equipment, a clean hood with boron free HEPA filter, well equipped for cleaning carbonate samples for elemental ratios, and boron isotope analyses.

Clean Laboratories (Room 8/E-006)
Column chemistry is perfmormed in two dedicated B free hoods in our communally shared low level clean laboratories. Currently we are able to run samples with as little as 2ng boron, and can generate routinely low level multi element/calcium ratios in marine carbonates using interlab calibrated standards and methodologies.

In our communal Instrument lab,
1. For Boron isotope analyses we use a ThermoScientific Neptune Plus Multicollector Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (MC-ICP-MS).
2. For elemental ratios we use a Thermo Element XR.
3. C-O isotope analyses are generated within the Stable Isotope Laboratory.
